The Light

In our quest to help tackle loneliness and isolation in our amazing community, we visited The Light to see what social events and groups were available for us to be able to share with you all.

We would like to thank Rachel and her team of fabulous volunteers at The Light Charity Shop in Sale for taking the time to have a chat with us about the amazing work that they do.

It was lovely to hear about how the team support the local community in a variety of ways. Not only is The Light a charity shop it is also a place where you can sit down and have a brew for a small donation.

There is a computer class on a Thursday between 13:00-15:00. Tom who is an IT expert takes times out of his busy schedule to help the community learn about computers. All are welcome to attend and enjoy.

The Knit and Natter group meet up on a Friday, between 12:00 – 14:00. It is suitable for those who are new to knitting and those who are intermediate and anyone in between. We were told about a lady who did not know how to knit a single stich and how she has now gone on to knit a jumper for herself with the support and guidance of the group.

The Light is a true asset to the community and wraps itself around with kindness and care as soon as you walk through the door. We would highly recommend a visit.
